Investiture Ceremony of the Captains Regent


A ceremony celebrating the memory of the ancient settlement, for six months, the Captains Regent, representing the Republic of San Marino.
E 'can take part in the picturesque historic protocol which sees the players paraded in costume through the streets of Old Town.

The day begins at 9:45 am with the deployment of the Military Corps and the flag-raising ceremony in Freedom Square.
At 10.40 the procession of the Captains Regent elected goes to the Basilica of the Holy for the celebration of a religious rite.
The procession then returns to the Public Palace at 11:30 am for the official prayer.
This is the highlight of the ceremony that saw the Captains Regent oath and receive the investiture.
At 12:30, the procession heads to Palace Walloons and return to Liberty Square to the lowering of the flag.
