Tour de France in San Marino
Titan welcomes the Tour De France to San Marino on 29 June 2024
For the first time in its history, the Tour de France begins with more than 3,600 meters of altitude difference.
The Grande Boucle will start from Florence, in the land of the great Gino Bartali, winner of the great stage race in 1938 and 1948, and of Gastone Nencini, on the top step of the podium in 1960.
The succession of Tuscan and Emilia-Romagna hills will probably be the scene of an immediate and demanding confrontation between the title contenders, with particular attention to the San Marino climb (7.1 km at 4.8%).
In addition to Italy, in next year's competition, the country of Titan will be the other foreign nation crossed by the caravan.
The arrival will be in Rimini after 206 km.
San Marino thus becomes the 14th country to host the largest stage race in the world. The fraction includes the entrance to the Titano at Chiesanuova to descend to Fiorentino and then climb up to San Marino City and then the descent along the highway to reach the arrival in Rimini.
