Investiture Ceremony of the Captains Regent

A ceremony of ancient memory that celebrates the establishment, for six months, of the Captains Regent, Head of State of the Republic of San Marino.
It is possible to take part in the evocative historical protocol which sees the protagonists parading in period costume along the streets of the Historic Center.
The day starts at 9.45 am with the deployment of the Military Corps and the flag-raising ceremony in Piazza della Libertà.

Program:

9.45 am - Piazza della Libertà. Deployment of the Military Corps and flag-raising
10.40 am - Procession of the Captains Regent elected by the Palazzo Pubblico to the Basilica del Santo, where the religious rite is celebrated.
11.30 am - Return of the Procession to the Palazzo Pubblico, where the Official Prayer is pronounced and the elected Captains Regent take the oath and receive the investiture.
12.30 - Procession of the Excellencies the Captains Regent and of the following from the Palazzo Pubblico to Palazzo Valloni.
12.45 am - Piazza della Libertà. Deployment of the Military Corps and flag-lowering.
