The Feast that San Marino dedicates each year to Sant'Agata, co-patron of the Republic, is certainly one of the most heartfelt and suggestive of institutional events.
The feast dates back to February 5, 1740, when Cardinal Enriquez, sent by the Holy See,
he restored that autonomy and freedom that Cardinal Alberoni had tried to undermine in the previous months.
